Reminiscent of a Delftse Blauw masterwork, this Chinoiserie Tray is a real statement piece. Delft Blue pottery was developed in the 17th century to replicate the delicate works of blue and white pottery that had been imported from China and other countries on the trade routes years prior, as an effort to create the masterpieces locally, in the Netherlands, for a more affordable price for the common folk.
However, this piece is likely made newer in China, and is a beautiful example of affordable Chinoiserie.
